This recipe is from How Sweet Eats. I chose it because I've never tried chocolate chip cookies with salted sprinkled on top of them. When I baked them, I did not cut up the chocolate chunks and I'm wishing I would have, but they still turned out delicious! The salt on the cookies is game changing. Recipe below.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
12 tbsp melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 large egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla extract
8 oz dark chocolate chopped (or not)
coarse sea salt
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt.
In the electric mixing bowl, beat butter, sugars until fluffy. Beat in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla until combined. On low beat in dry ingredients until combined.
Hand mix the chocolate chunks into the cookie batter.
Using an ice cream scoop, spoon dough onto baking sheet and sprinkle each ball with sea salt.
Bake for 12-15 min or until edges turn golden brown. Place on cooling rack to cool down.
Pour a glass of milk and enjoy!
